Too long, too long...

...I know! I thought I was gonna get back into the whole blogging thing... well you can see how far THAT went!
Since my last post, we have finished painting the front room, and it DOES look nice, if I do say so myself, had a garage sale, cleaned out the nursery, and a lot of other things! I went through all my things and got rid of A LOT at the garage sale (I was quite ruthless with my organizing and getting rid of stuff!). So now, hopefully, Nate will find some time to go through his boxes (he's definitely the pack rat between us!) and we ship a bunch more stuff off to Goodwill, the dump, etc.! Yaaay!
Other things since my last post: a trip to Michigan over July 4th, midwife appointments, working, eating, sleeping... you get the picture!
I can't believe I'm almost 7 months along! Exciting! SCARY! 2 months to go! I can't wait to see our baby, but on the other hand, it seems to be coming WAY too fast! So far the heartbeat has been mostly above 140, supposedly a girl's heartbeat, HA! Whatever! We will see! Nate is so excited, he doesn't care one way or the other! We're painting the nursery blue and yellow, with white trim, and I'm hoping to find a Curious George wallpaper border, I think it would be so cute and slightly out of the norm! You know the Man in the Yellow Hat drives a little blue car, right?
I've been investing more time, well, at least, having more chances to practice my photography techniques... I have so much to learn! Lighting is my hardest area, definitely!

First up, one of the 150 pictures my dear, darling, wonderful husband took of the Make-A-Wish convoy...

...yeah, my sister-in-law and I begged out and watched "27 Dresses" that afternoon... ;)
Then in June, Nate's sister, Katrina, consented to be my practice model... well, ok, senior pictures...
I haven't even got them all edited yet (I have a love/hate relationship with that task!) but because of the components with some of them, I was only able to upload certain ones... I think there a lot better ones in the batch I wanted to, but couldn't, upload. Tell me what you think... should I keep my day job? Also, I don't JUST do weird lighting stuff to them... only the ones I uploaded. ;)

And then a week ago, I shot my Aunt Sharon's reception... She was widowed a year and a half ago and recently got married to a widower with 2 children... they had a wedding with just them, their children, and the preacher about 6 weeks ago, and then had a reception for their friends and family... at the Eden Resort in Lancaster... very nice!
The reception was held in the courtyard (or whatever they call the gardeney type room with the water fall and greenery and faux stone flooring... like I said, very nice... and tricky lighting! Of course!

The waterfall! Notice the lighting? Mostly daylight coming in the big skylight and little light bulbs and candles! Not fun! But, hey! The more I work with it, the more I learn, the more confidence I gain and the more comfortably I get with it!

Well, I need to get going... I'm leaving for Indiana to hang out with my Aunt Katrina for almost a week, so I really get my packing done!

Life since our wedding...

Well, of course, life has been busy since we got married!
We've been making some headway on our house, though, in comparison, we've gotten a lot more done on the outside, flowerbeds, garden, etc.
At the beginning of March, Nate took a new job at Binkley & Hurst, the local tractor dealership, working in the shop. And though he is VERY MUCH a John Deere man, he enjoys the variety of working on a host of different Case IH and Agco tractors and skidloaders, although he misses the farm, being outside, and working out in the fields. But, so far it has worked out well. Several times this spring, after work at the shop and on different paid holidays, he has helped out at the farm, disking and driving truck while haylage chopping was going on. So all that, plus getting stuff done at home, not to mention the fact that both our vehicles have been giving us trouble, keep him very busy!
I've been keeping quite busy as well- sometimes it seems like it's hard to keep my head above water, so to speak. Up until yesterday, I was working as a full-time milker at the farm, as well as a part-time position at a local bridal salon (www.classicwed.com). Yesterday was my last day at the farm... yaaaaay, as the time has come to focus on other things, like getting our house done, before we have our BABY in Nov.!!!!!!!! Yep! Surprise! We're expecting and sooooooooo excited about it! It was a surprise for us as well, and perhaps, a bit sooner than we were planning, but so grateful that God has chosen to bless us!
So now that means we need to finish painting the bathroom, lighting in the master bedroom, spackling, painting, and floor-finishing in the office/sewing room, and painting, carpeting, and lighting in the nursery!
Alright, must go and get caught up on the laundry!
I was planning to post a bunch engagement pictures I took for Jeremy and Ruth, BUT I have no idea what happened to all but this ONE edited copy! So, while I COULD post the unedited originals, I would really like to post the better copies! So I guess I'll have to start from scratch!
Oh yeah, I also found a good pic of my entrance into the church!

Alright, I know, I know, it has been pretty much forever since I last posted, so now I will FINALLY finish posting wedding pix and then give you the rundown on what has been happening in our lives lately!
